With great enthusiasm, we celebrated British Week 2026, a special week that invites us to celebrate and keep our British heritage alive through a variety of educational, artistic, cultural and sporting experiences.
The Opening Ceremony marked the beginning of the celebrations, bringing together delegations from British schools in the Valparaíso Region, the George Garland Fire Company, authorities and members of the wider community. It was a memorable occasion featuring bagpipe music, Scottish dancing and the traditional squadron parade.
Throughout the week, our students took part in a wide range of activities that allowed them to learn, create and express themselves through different disciplines. Highlights included the 5th Grade musical performances featuring renowned pirates and navigators from the Golden Age of Piracy, the ABSCH English Debate Event, in which our Senior students strengthened their critical thinking and argumentation skills in English, and the entertaining British Icons Costume Activity, where the creativity and enthusiasm of both students and staff took centre stage.
Sports also had a special place during the celebrations with our traditional Senior ABSCH Volleyball Tournament, which brought together 18 schools at our sports facilities. It was undoubtedly a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and healthy competition, where fair play, commitment, discipline and teamwork reflected the values that unite us as a community.
British Week 2026 leaves us with new learning experiences, shared memories and stronger connections with British culture and traditions. Music, culture, debate, creativity and sports were all at the heart of a celebration that brought together our educational community and different schools from the ABSCH network.
British Week 2026: una semana de celebraciones de nuestro legado británico
Con entusiasmo se desarrolló la British Week 2026, una semana que nos invita a celebrar y mantener vivo nuestro legado británico, a través de diversas experiencias educativas, artísticas, culturales y deportivas. La Ceremonia de Apertura marcó el inicio y reunió a delegaciones de colegios británicos de la Quinta Región, Compañía de Bomberos George Garland , autoridades y representantes de la comunidad, en una jornada marcada por la música de gaita, bailes escoceses y el desfile de escuadrones.
Durante la semana, nuestras alumnas participaron en distintas actividades que les permitieron aprender y expresarse desde diferentes disciplinas. Destacaron las presentaciones musicales de 5° Básico sobre reconocidos piratas y navegantes de la Edad de Oro, el ABSCH English Debate Event de alumnas de Senior, que fortaleció el pensamiento crítico y la argumentación en inglés, y la entretenida jornada de disfraces de íconos británicos, donde la creatividad y el entusiasmo de las alumnas y el staff fueron protagonistas.
El deporte también tuvo un espacio especial con el tradicional Torneo de Volleyball Senior ABSCH, el cual reunió a 18 colegios en nuestras dependencias. Sin duda, una instancia de encuentro y sana competencia, donde el fair play, el compromiso, la disciplina y el trabajo en equipo reflejaron los valores que nos unen como comunidad.
British Week 2026 nos deja nuevos aprendizajes, experiencias compartidas y momentos que fortalecen nuestros vínculos con la cultura y tradición británica, donde la música, la cultura, el debate, la creatividad y el deporte fueron protagonistas de una celebración que reunió a nuestra comunidad educativa y a distintos colegios de la red ABSCH.
