International Programme: Holly Sawyer

During April, we welcomed Holly Sawyer, a student from St Margaret’s College in Christchurch, New Zealand, who spent three weeks on exchange at our school.

For Holly, this was a completely new experience. “I had never been to South America before, so it was my first time here. And it completely exceeded my expectations. It’s very nice” she said.

During those weeks, Holly participated in different academic and formative activities, such as CAS, visits to Infant School, and an outing to Pomaire, where she had clay classes. “I’d never done anything like this before and it was completely in Spanish’, highlighting the level of Spanish she has achieved. In addition, she highlighted how diverse Chile is and the amount of new experiences she was able to live.

She also shared that, although he had learned Spanish in New Zealand, mainly with a focus on Spanish in Spain, coming to Chile was a challenge and an opportunity to familiarise himself with new expressions.

When asked how she would sum up her experience, she did not hesitate to answer: ‘It is unforgettable, a great experience’.

Special thanks to the Higueras Zapico Family for hosting Holly during her stay.
